Burial of Renowned Banker And Politician Chief CAC Ikpo Fixed For 4th September 2020 In Umuomainta Mbawsi
Chief Chukwuemeka Anuonyehemere Chijioke Ikpo (CAC IKPO), a great patriarch of Umuokpa Eluama, Umuezenta Umuomainta Mbawsi , in Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia state who died earlier this year at 85, is set to be buried.
According to the family, Late Chukwuemeka Anumonyehemere Chijioke Ikpo was born into the family of late Justus Nwagwu Ikpo and Mrs. Esthere Ikpo on the 5th day of November, 1935 in Umuokpa Eluama, Umueze Umuomainta Mbawsi Nsulu in the then Northern Ngwa of the old Imo state Nigeria. He was the second child but the first son of Justus Ikpo Family.
The late patriarch was a professional academic teacher. In 1963, he was posted to Egberu secondary school Okuloma to teach and 1964 he was transferred to Etche Girls Secondary School.
He was also and a renowned Banker, formerly with Co-operative and Commerce Bank (CCB) in his home town. As a very resourceful, intelligent and performer, these earned him a promotion to a managerial level. He retired as a senior manager of the Bank in 1995.
The late Patriarch was blessed with seven children, 5 females and two males who are still very much alive to bid him farewell.
Late Chukwuemeka Anumonyehemere Chijioke Ikpo was also referred to a community spirited leader right from his youth. He was known to be a man that avoided anything that could bring disunity.
The departed Patriarch of the Ikpo dynasty was as astute politician who is renowned for his exemplary leadership.
His political exploits saw him sponsor his wife to vie and win election as the first woman Councilor under NRC.
He joined active politics on retirement to become the local government Chairman of the then ANPP and later became the state Chairman of the same party.
He was also elected the gubernatorial candidate of ANPP in Abia state in the year 2007.
According to the family head Hon. Chijioke Chukwuemeka Ikpo (Nwa Chief), who spoke to Abia Pulse News, the burial rites of their late father will commence on Thursday 3rd September, 2020, with a Service of songs/ Wake keeping at his country home, Umuokpa Eluama, Umuezenta Umuomainta Nbawsi, Nsulu, Isialangwa North LGA, Abia state.
Friday 4th September, 2020, his Body will lie in state in his Country Home, for a Church Service by St. Georges Anglican Church by 8:30am after which Internment will follow.
Saturday 5th September, 2020 by 10:00am, his Burial Rites continues by Eluama Community
Sunday 6th September, 2020 at 9:00am the family will be joined by relatives and friends for a Thanksgiving at St. Geoges Anglican church, Umuomainta Mbawsi.
