ABIA RESIDENTS COMMEND NIGERIAN ARMY FOR PROFESSIONAL RESPONSE AND CONDUCTS IN THE ONGOING #ENDSARS PROTEST IN ABIA STATE
The #ENDSARS protests which began as a peaceful protest suddenly took a different dimension as it turned violent. While the protests have led to loss of lives and wanton destruction of properties worth trillions of naira in many states, the Nigerian Army in Abia State has professionally handled the protesters and contained all uprisings without incurring or inflicting a single injury on the pretesters not to talk of any fatality. Places like Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the State, Umuahia, the State Capital and Arochukwu were some of th hotspots of the State that witnessed heavy tension. The presence of the soldiers made a lot of difference as the hoodlums who hijacked the peaceful protest could not withstand their presence.
The soldiers were seen putting out fire, clearing debris and instilling confidence in the populace by their presence though looking very fierce.
Our sources revealed that the 14 Brigade Command Nigeria Army Ohafia visited Aba and Umuahia Prisons to assess the situation and assured them of their supports and necessary protections. The source also revealed that Commander 14 Brigade also visited other key points and vulnerable points including the offices of Nigerian Immigration Service and Federal Road Safety Corps all in Umuahia.
He stationed soldiers at the three correctional centres in the state to avert jail break.
