Dec.18th LG Poll: We Are Battle Ready, Bende People Assures Gov. Ikpeazu
The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie lkpeazu has charged stakeholders in Bende LGA to take advantage of their numerical strength to ensure total victory for all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming local Government election.
Dr lkpeazu who gave the charge while flagging off the PDP Campaign for local Government election for Bende LGA held at the Practicing School, Uzuakoli, described Bende LGA as very important and strategic in the political history of Abia North and State at large, hence the need for all to rally round for a resounding victory for the party.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu reassured that with PDP at the helm of affairs at the local Government level and the State, wonderful transformations will continue to take place in the State and wished all the candidates a very resounding victory in the December 18th local Government election.
He appreciated the people of Uzuakoli in particular and Bende LGA in general for their loyalty and support so far to the present administration and used the forum to commend the State Chairman of PDP, Chief Alwell Asiforo Okere for the positive rebranding of PDP through the harvest of new members.
In their respective speeches, the State Chairman of PDP, Chief Alwell Asiforo Okere, the Zonal Chairman of PDP Abia North, Chief Amah Abraham, the member representing Bende South State Constituency, Chief Emmanuel Ndubuisi and the Transition Committee Chairman of Bende LGA, Barr. Hagler Okorie Chief Uchechi Ogbuke and Special Adviser to the governor on Agriculture, Pastor Okechukwu Dike reaffirmed that PDP remained the only party that will ensure their welfare and assured that all their candidates will emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.
The TC Chairman of Bende LGA, Chief Hargler Okorie, Deputy T.C Chairman, Hon. John Mark,Bar. Uzochi Igwe, Chairman of Bende Campaign Council, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma, Chief PC Onyegbu said they are battle ready, having prepared a formidable force that will ensure that they deliver all their candidates unto resounding victory.
The highlights of the occasion include the presentation of party flags to the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Chief Emmanuel Onwuchekwa, his Deputy, Mr Promise Uzoma Okoro as well as all the twenty Councillorship candidates of the various Wards of Bende LGA and the acceptance of some decampees to PDP from other parties in the LGA by the State PDP Chairman, while members of the State Executive Council, top Government Officials and party chieftains graced the event.
