Abia Speaker Commends Lucky U.N. Johnson for Sustaining Annual Scholarship and Empowerment
Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today was at Mbelutu Umuasua, Isuikwuato, as a Special Guest of Honour at the Annual Lucky Johnson Educational Empowerment Program sponsored by Sir Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson KJW, a PDP chieftain in Abia State.
The empowerment program featured gifting of motorcycles and other items to beneficiaries, cash donations to indigent widows and scholarships to students of Isuikwuato Local Government Area and beyond.
Speaking at the event, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji extolled the resilience of the donor in continuing the organisation of the annual event despite the political setback he suffered recently.
“You did not allow the political outcome in your Local Government to make you stop giving. I’m aware you ran for an election, even though it wasn’t favourable to you, you never allowed that to dampen your spirit of generousity and helping people as you have always done annually. Remember that nothing should stop a man who knows where he is going,” the Speaker said.
On his part and in his usual magnanimity, the Speaker who was represented by the Lawmaker representing Umuahia South State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Barr Jerry Uzosike, promised to add extra cash donation of Fifty Thousand Naira to each of the widows. He consoled them and promised that they will never be forgotten.
Sir Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson thanked the Speaker for gracing the occasion and supporting his Annual Educational Empowerment Program, saying he will continue to empower his people, help the widows and give scholarships to youths in Isuikwuato Local Government Area irrespective of political circumstances.
Rt Hon Darlington Nwokocha, Member representing IsialaNgwa North/South Federal Constituency and other top government officials also graced the occasion.
