TENSION IN UMUAHIA NORTH AS LEGISLATURES FIGHT DIRTY, HON PETER IROEGBU AND COUNCIL BOSS ALLEGEDLY MISMANAGED 750,000

What seems like drama yesterday took place in Umuahia north LGA as the elected councillors held the leader of the house hostage following the alleged negligence and conniving with the clerk of Umuahia North LGA to misappropriate the allowance of about 750,000 meant for the councillors
Anonymity who spoke to our reporter revealed that the leader of the legislative council has recieved the sum of 750000 last week and held a secret meeting with the clerk in a hotel under the directive of the local government chairman Hon Ugochukwu Njikonye without the councillors.
He further disclosed that the information leaked to them by their colleagues from other local government areas which made the leader Hon peter iroegbu to ask the clerk to release the money yesterday, our source noted that this trouble started brewing when the council chairman shared revenue of the council amongst him and the leader of the legislative council without due process and accountability, adding that it has degenerated to cold war as the principal officers led by the deputy leader is calming the situation and alleged that they have placed their search light on the deputy to ascertain his interest over the illegality going on presently.
Recall that this is coming up hours after governor Hope Uzodinma and Senator Rochas Okorocha displayed their show of shame in Imo state sponsoring thuggery in the state rather than good governance.
Efforts to reach out to the alleged culprits proved abortive as the leader was said to have move to Ebonyi state for the councillors forum seminar without informing other councillors.
