Law officers suspend court boycott in Ebonyi

LAWYERS under the aegis of Law Officers Association of Nigeria, LOAN, Friday suspended their boycott of Government cases in Court.

The boycott which lasted for seven days was a way for them to press home their demands for improved welfare as they prosecute cases for the State Government in Court.

In a statement by the Chairman of LOAN, Ebonyi State, Barr Sixtus Ogbuinya, the boycott was suspended “Following the intervention of the Nigerian Bar Association Abakaliki and Onueke branch.”

“And after a robust deliberation with the representatives of the Law Officers and the leaders of the bar, the Law Officers at their meeting today announced the suspension of the court boycott which has lasted for 7 days.

“The suspension was to give the bar the chance to further engage the government on the issues at stake. It was part of the stakeholders agreement that there shall be no victimization.” Ends
