Umuahia North Council Boss, Deputy Intervene Over Brewing Crisis Amongst Councillors.
The Chairman Umuahia North local government area, Hon. Njinkeonye and his deputy Hon. Bob Agbugba on Wednesday met with Councillors of the local government in an effort to initiate dialogue on the brewing crisis in the local government council.
According to a reliable source, it was alleged that legislative leader, Hon. Peter Iroegbu, contracted heavily armed thugs who invaded the plenary section on Tuesday and chasing away Councillors and workers on duty.
The dangerously armed thugs dressed in black clothes was accurately reported to have stormed the Council headquarters at about 12noon in the commando style of the trending unknown Gunmen attacking government institution across the south-eastern region of the country.
The attack created heavy pandemonium which made every council staff scamper for safety and caused various degrees of injuries on staff members.
The bridge news online recalls that Hon. Peter Iroegbu issued a verbal trait to his colleagues adding that he owns the town as well as trained hoodlums who can turn everywhere upside down whenever he wants them to do so.
It is also on record that Hon. Iroegbu boosted that not even the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hierarchy nor stakeholders can stop him of what he is capable of doing.
From investigations Hon. Iroegbu’s threat, is more threatening when’s especially when it is no longer news that insecurity in the south-east is a big source of concern.
It becomes more embarrassing and disgraceful when a public office holder whose political party is the ruling party of the state.
It’s heartbreaking and a bigger threat when a public office holder sponsor and champion the activities of tauts in a crucial time like when the country is facing worsening security challenges.
It’s even more of a sabotage when the governor of the state, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu is working round the clock to ensure water tight security.
