Umuahia North health authority secretary. Mrs Glory Okwara has flagged off polio immunization across the local government area.
Speaking Speaker while flagging the exercise, Mrs Glory Okwara said is a strategy that will help to protect children from 0 to 59 months from avoidable disease and death adding that the vaccine is universally accepted as potent tools in combating infant mortality and mobility.
According to her, ” Oral Polio vaccine is prepared with attenuated polio Virus”. She said.
The occasion which took place at Nkwoegwu witnessed the presence of Hon Onuzurike member representing Umuahia North State constituency and the supervisor for health, Rogers Egeruo along side parents who came out in their numbers to participate in the exercise.
The health authority secretary admonished the people of Umuahia North to take advantage of the exercise in protecting the lives of their wards.
