Clearing of Grasses Begins Across Umuahia Capital Under Prince Okezie Ogbudu
Clearing of the grasses that has make the capital City of Abia State unkept begis along BCA road, Azikiwe road, Mission hill, Okpara Square, isigate, Express tower and Bende Road to mention but few.
Recall that the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu had last week approved the appointment of Prince Okezie Ogbudu as Deputy General Manager of APUMA, to immediately take charge of the agency and charge him to replicate his pragmatic approach which he proved beyond reasonable doubt during his days in ASEPA. As well as ensure immediate evacuation of refuse within the area.
Furthermore, Gov. Ikpeazu had asked him to engage street sweepers to clear grasses restore the face of new Abia.
Barely a couple of hours after the governor’s pronouncement, Prince Ogbudu embarked on an intervention move across every area, tackling the oversized heaps of grasses that took over most parts, including the the Enugu Port Harcourt express way and Government House axis flashpoints.
As at Monday morning, the intervention has paid off as all the grasses that has hitherto, created an eyesore in the area, have been evacuated and discharged while efforts are on to clear the bushes along Golden Guinea – Afara – Ceramics – Old Umuahia road.
Speaking, Prince Ogbudu described achieving a healthy environment as a work of passion and that he was all round ready to get the work done.
He assured that before the end of the day, the grasses and bushes along the Afara road would have been all cleared to give the area a new look.
