Rotary Club of Nigeria Honours Raymond Ofoegbu, Others As Rtn Sopuruchi Mounts Leadership Rostrum Of RC Umuahia North
The weather was balmy, adding to the enjoyment of the day with the climate smiling to charity, as the Rotary Club of Umuahia North, District 9142 installed her sixth Visionary President, Rtn. Emeka Sopuruchi.
In his speech at the Conference hall, Kolping Society of Nigeria, Umuahia, Abia State, shortly after his installation, Rtn. Sopuruchi who looked classy and organized in a well-tailored conspicuously handsome suit in supreme quality and unmatched design options, expressed the preparedness of his led team to better the lives of the downtrodden in the society.
Rtn. Sopuruchi who strongly believe that, “Caring for and serving others is the best way to live”, called on the well meaning individuals to support and encourage his administration to create an indelible impact on the Society.
His words, “Our compassion and our ability to open our hearts to those in need, combined with our commitment to share our time, talent, and treasure with those who are less fortunate, is what causes ordinary Rotarians such as ourselves to do the extra ordinary things we do. There are many needy people throughout our community and the world whose only hope comes from Rotary”.
Rtn. Sopuruchi reiterated the vision and mission of his led administration to serve to change lives and become more involved in service projects that will revolve around the seven areas of focus of Rotary International.
High Chief Raymond Ofoegbu; Sen. Chris Adighije; Ncheta Omerekpe Foundation, a Journalist, Nwamara Chekube Asonye among others were honoured during the event which attracted the presence of Rotary Club District 9142 Assistant Governors, Past Assistant Governors, Present and Past Club Presidents, Rotarians and Rotaractors.
The event also featured the inauguration of the Board of Directors and new members; Project support and launching of service projects.
Meanwhile, the Founder and President, Onyinye Ohuhu Foundation International, Chief Raymond Ofoegbu has pointed out that helping the needy in the Society can usher in an effective and long-lasting improvement in their lives.
Chief Ofoegbu who made this known shortly after he was honoured with “Community Service Award”, by the Rotary Club of Umuahia North, District 9142 remarked that helping the indigent/downtrodden is a noble endeavour, as the more one gives to poor and needy people, the moreyou strengthen them emotionally and psychologically.
Chief Ofoegbu, who also seized the opportunity to empower a young man, an automobile mechanic with a tool box, called on other well-to-do’s in the Society to see the uplifting of people from the shackles of helplessness to prominence as a priority.
