Investment in Education is an Investment in the Future – Senator Effiong Bob
Senator Effiong Bob was in Nsit Ubium over the weekend to witness the One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100, 000) financial support given to 55 students of the Local Government by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Emmanuel on Security, Captain Iniobong Ekong, also known as Ikwafang.

The gift which was a highlight of the SSA’s 55th birthday had the two-term Senator and political Leader of Nsit Ubium, reiterate that investment in education is an investment in the future.

He observed that the celebrant was not engaging in the gesture out of political intentions but from a cultivated attitude of giving.
“I can tell you as the political Leader of Nsit Ubium, that Ikwafang is used to doing good for the people, the less privileged, youths and women. So, I am not surprised that he is doing this for students today”, the Senator said.

Charging the beneficiaries on making judicious use of the grant, Bob wished them well in their educational pursuit and prayed for them to excel, so as to give back to the society in time.

Himself a lover and supporter of education, Senator Effiong Bob, from the days of his youth had been engaging in annual education support programmes for Medical, Law and Engineering students.

He is the first Senator to have hosted the leadership of NAAKISS worldwide at the National Assembly and is still remembered for the ultra modern computer laboratory he gifted the Akwa Ibom State College of Education, which students use till date.
Not only does he call for learning, he also monetizes his plea by way of scholarship and moral support for indigenes of the State in various institutions of learning.
As Chairman, Governing Council and Pro Chancellor of the University of Benin, over One Hundred Akwa Ibom students and staff (academic and non academic) had their causes pivoted by the Nsit Ubium Senator; many of which were promotion, scholarship and welfare related. It is on record that there was no record of strike or any sort of distraction of academic activities throughout Bob’s tenure as the Institution’s Pro-Chancellor.
