“You’re making Us Proud” – Abia State PDP Chairman Tells Abia Deputy Speaker.
The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere has described the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu as an asset to the PDP.
The Party Chairman stated this during the Commissioning/Handing Over of the Amangwu Ohafia Skill Acquisition Center built by the Deputy Speaker. According to him, the heartwarming welcome accorded him and his state Exco Members by the People of the Community all but confirmed their happiness and love for their representative who deemed it fit to establish such center in a rural community where the impact would be felt greatly.
He enjoined the people of the community to take proper care of the Center as well as the equipments in it as it will go a long way to bring more development to the community.
Also Speaking, the Traditional Ruler of the Community, HRH Eze Dr. (Engr) A. A. Obobi, the Ezeogo of Amangwu community, HRM Ezeogo Elder Mecha Ugbu Mecha thanked the Deputy Speaker for remembering their community in his allocation of dividends of democracy to the People of Ohafia. They also used the occasion to give their royal blessings to the law maker while assuring him of the support of the community in all his endeavors.
Speaking also, the President of Amangwu Ohafia Community Development Union, Chief (Engr) K. U. Obuma stated that when the Deputy Speaker informed them of his intention to build a Skill Acquisition Center in the Community, they thought it was one of those political promises. He thanked the Deputy Speaker for keeping to his promise which he described as ‘Everlasting Legacy’ noting that the generations to come in the community will ever remember him.
In his own Speech, the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu thanked the people of the community for all their support for him and the PDP in the last general election in the State. He described Amangwu community as his second home and assured them of his willingness and readiness to do more for the community. The Deputy Speaker noted that the Skill Acquisition Center he built for the Community will go a long way to meaningfully engaging youths from the area as well as serve as a create employment opportunities. Rt. Hon. Uchendu used the occasion to donate various equipments such as; Sewing Machines, Hair Dryers, Clippers and other materials to the community for the take off of the Center.
He also promised to carry out a Palliative work on some failed portions of the road leading to the community to enable them enjoy the forthcoming yuletide.
The Project Commissioning attracted the Presence of the PDP Chairman in Abia State, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere and his State Working Committee, Members of the Abia State House of Assembly which includes; Hon. Jerry Uzosike (Umuahia South), Hon. Mike Ukoha (Arochukwu), Hon. Stanley Nwabuisi (Ikwuano), the Abia North Zonal Chairman of the Party, Hon. Chief Kalu I. Uduma (Immediate past Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Abia State), the PDP Party Chairman in Ohafia, the President of Mben Political Assembly – Chief Lucas amongst other notable personalities.
