Akwa Ibom Police PRO receives Ikono/Ini Media Professionals
… charges organization on best practices
The leadership of Ikono/Ini Media Professionals led by the President, Comrade Emmanuel Ufon, on Tuesday, visited the Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Odiko MacDon, to intimate him of the forthcoming Ikono/Ini Economic Symposium scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Ikono council secretariat, Ibiaku Ntok Okpo.
Mr MacDon, who was visibly elated during the brief reception ceremony, charged the visiting media professionals on ethical reportage and objectivity in the line of duty.
MacDon, a Superintendent of Police, assured the organization that the State Police Command was in support of initiatives by individuals and groups that are intended to bring development to any community.
He said the police authority would always assist the citizens within the Standard Operational Procedures of the police, even as he urged them to use their profession to preach against criminal tendencies and indulgence by the youths.
Earlier, Comrade Emmanuel Ufon explained to the police spokesman that Ikono/Ini Media Professionals initiated the Ikono/Ini Economic Symposium to gather sons and daughters from the federal Constituency to brainstorm on how best to explore and exploit the abundant natural and human resources that abound in their localities.
Ufon lamented the pathetic nature of the two sister local government areas, insisting that none of the communities therein could boast of any functional industry either from the government or from private indigenes of the areas.
He expressed gratitude to Mr MacDon for his friendly disposition and support to members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, even as he promised to work with the command for a safer and more prosperous Akwa Ibom State, devoid of crime and criminality.
