Save Us from Imposed Leadership…. Building Materials Dealers Raises Alarm, Alleged Plot to Change Govt Appoints Chairman of the Union
Members of the building materials ahiaeke ndume Ibeku in Ndume, Umuahia. has called on the state government to intervene to ensure the chairman as appointed by the Executive Governor stand and not replaced by some money bags who are romancing with the ministry of trade and investment through the permanent secretary.
Recall that the Chief executive of the state dissolved all market union in the state and made a replacement on which saw the swearing in of the current executive chairmen of markets across the state.
Elders and stakeholders of the building materials decried he level of disrespect that staff of the ministry led by the permanent secretary is given to the governor’s directives adding that it sounds strange and only in this state will a governor announce names of Union leaders and those under his instructions will collect money to change the names as mentioned.
Speaking to our reporter over the weekend, a man who pleaded for anonymity told our reporter that they wake up to see the union hall locked up by the out gone chairman following the announcement for the inauguration of the new chairman comrade ugochukwu Onyeabo.
According to him, “Ugochukwu Onyeabo is the one announced by the state government, those appointed same time with him long ago assume office” he said.
Our correspondent report that the permanent secretary, the chairman of industrial market Mr Onyenwaku confirmed on the telephone interview that, there is an internal arrangements ongoing that will see to the change of comrade ugochukwu Onyeabo, noting that order from above has directed him to do so.
The Bridge Newsonline also reached out to the outgoing chairman Mr okezie o. Okezie who confirmed to us that he is not aware if the government has replaced him with anyone.
Others who spoke with our reporter asked the government to intervene and restore peace in the Union to Avert breakdown of law and order as traders within the zone has lamented on the untold hardship they are passing through in the course of this struggle.
