2023 general elections: the Young Progressives Party unveils it’s candidates in Abia, says it’s time for positive change…
As Nigeria prepare for the 2023 general elections, the Young Progressives Party YPP has said that it is well prepared to take over governance in Abia and render efficient quality services to the people.
Speaking at a massive rally to unveil it’s candidates at Ngwa High School, Aba, the state Chairman of the Party, Hon. Chimex Nelcinn Uluocha enjoined the youths and indeed all progressive minded Abians who have long for the Abia of our dream to embrace YPP. According to him, the party is well prepared to change the status quo and position the state on the path of development.
Also speaking before the mammoth crowd, National Chairman of the Party, Cmdr. Bishop Amakri said he is overwhelmed by the massive support the party enjoys in the state, while expressing optimism that the quality of candidates YPP is fielding in Abia will deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
He assured Abians that the Party has indeed come to change the narrative through it’s seasoned aspirants.
Gubernatorial candidate of the Party, Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor and his Deputy, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji) In their separate speeches pledged to render effective services to Abians and make her the envy of other states.
Engr. Nwafor (Nana) made a solemn promise to effect a paradigm shift in the scheme of things in the State. He listed his developmental agenda to include: sharp reduction in poverty ratio in the state, massive infrastructural development across the state, effective civil service, regular salary and pension for workers and retirees.
Further in his speech, Dr Anyaso, therefore, called on the youths and all progressive minded Abians to take their destiny into their hands by registering for the Permanent Voter Cards PVCs, which will allow them participate in the 2023 elections.
Speaking to the crowd of supporters who accompanied him to the rally, YPP‘s flag bearer for Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency, Nnaji Obed Asiegbu said it’s a new dawn for his constituents who he has volunteered to serve with sincerity of purpose.
“The late sage, Dr M I. Okpara is my role model and I am working assiduously hard to keep his legacy alive in Ohuhu if given the opportunity.” He stated.
The Young Progressive Party is a new breed of progressive politicians who have demonstrated readiness and capacity to render effective services to the people.
Also present at the rally, to show solidarity were: Nollywood star, Zuby Michael, celebrity Barman, Cubana Chief Priest, Rough Coin Nwa Aba and others.
Highlights of the event include massive defections from APC, APGA and PDP to the YPP. Notable among the defectors is the Executive Chairman, Obingwa LGA.
