NADCEL 2022: COMMANDER 14 BRIGADE DONATES EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO 355 PUPILS
In line with activities lined up for the Nigerian Army Day Celebration, headquarters 14 Brigade Nigerian Army Ohafia Abia State, today donated educational materials to 355 pupils of Command Children School Ohafia Abia State. These include textbooks, notebooks, pen, pencil, eraser, crayon, eraser and sharpener.
The Commander 14 Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Abu-Mawashi in his remarks enjoined the pupils to make good use of the items as future leaders and be good ambassadors of the school and the nation at large. Adding that education is the gate way to greater heights, better and develop society which we are all aspiring our future generations, nation to be in the nearest future.
General Abu-Mawashi stated that the week long yearly event holds July every year in all formations of the Nigerian Army to commemorate both the living and the death especially those who paid the supreme price during the first and second World Wars.
He noted that the Nigerian Army is celebrating 159 years since it’s conception to date and as part of it’s Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) as directed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, educational materials was donated to boost and support pupils learning as future leaders.
Responding to the philanthropic gesture, the head teacher Mrs Ogbonaya appreciate the efforts of the Commander and the Nigerian Army for the kind gesture, promised that they will ensure judicious use of the materials while looking forward for more.
Earlier, the Brigade Education Officer Major Hillary Emeruwa in his welcome address, appreciate the Commander for the choice of choosing Command Children School Ohafia to mark this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration. Adding that he will continue to make the authority proud by ensuring the pupils are good ambassadors.
Present during the event is Commander 14 Brigade Garrison, Lieutenant Colonel UI Lezuya, Commanding Officer 1052 Brigade Workshop, Lieutenant Colonel SS Ibrahim among other senior officers and teachers of the school.
Highlights of the event was presentation of educational materials, presentation of song by the pupils and group photograph.
