As campaigns hot up in the momentum to the 2023 election for the House of Representatives, the people of Ofeme, in Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA have declared war against those they described as “cabals” whom they said are used to the tradition of sitting in their homes and offices to select who goes to elective positions, accusing them of being the primary reason for the history of poor representation the Ikwuano Umuahia has witnessed over the years.
The people openly made their stand known, today, when their comrade and strong ally Nwokonna Emmanuel declares support to get a representative who will make Umuahia North, Umuahia south and Ikwuano LGA’s an envy of all.
Speaking to the followers, “on behalf of the good and great people of Ofeme that I represent at Ohuhu Welfare Union, I will remain transparent and attract the speakers benevolence which is direct touch initiatives to Ofeme”.
Nwokonna said the people have resolved to make 2023 a turning point in the history of election in the Ofeme and Ohuhu at large as they are prepared to ensuring that Rt. Hon, Chinedum Orji wins landslide to represent them at the green chamber and will do what it takes to do so.
Addressing members of the group, the former council of Umuhu ward Hon uchechi udogu, decried the backwardness of Ikwuano Umuahia in the record of representation and without any functional federal presence.
Udogu said: “This may not have been the case if we had representatives whose voices mattered in the National Assembly like Chinedum Orji and who can hold the bull by the horn by demanding our dividends.
