Prof. Greg Ibe Campaign Council Youth Leader, Michael Okorie (White) decries the bad state of roads in Abia, connecting it to bad governance.

… says there is no State Government presence in Ukwa-West.

He said that while addressing the people of Ukwa-West. In his speech, Michael Okorie (White) expressed his displeasure over the activities of the PDP-led government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, stating that buses in Aba now ply on Owerrinta roads through Etchie before getting to Port Harcourt, Rivers state. He said the bad roads are there as a result of bad governance, and he presented Prof. Greg Ibe in a positive light, saying without fear of contradiction that he is the highest employer of labour in Abia. Further, Mr. Michael stated that some Abians have gained employment as a result of Gregory University, Uturu being built in Prof. Greg Ibe’s hometown of Amaokwe-Uturu, where youths have engaged themselves in acquisition of skills to better their lives.

“The youth shouldn’t allow themselves to be used by mischevious elements to commit atrocities during the time of elections,” the Youth Leader added.

Chief Mrs. Uwaoma Elewengwa informed the people of Ukwa-West Local Government Area that she was fully involved in the political fight that produced Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as Governor in 2015. But she expressed her disappointment over the present administration in the State, stating that the people are suffering because of the selfishness of the Governor. She was certain, when she called Prof. Greg Ibe a Humanist, who should be given the opportunity to govern Abia. Then she enjoined Ndi Ukwa-West to vote Prof. Greg Ibe into power and enjoy the dividends of democracy afterward. Continuing, she blamed the State Government for marginalizing Ukwa people, not considering the oil in their land that has positioned Abia as an oil producing state.

In her words, “I had visited Asa the other day and had attended a function organized by Asa Liberation Movement. I had heard when one of them talked about the marginalization of Ukwa people by the State Government. He was right, in fact. The 13% derivative should have been used to develop Ukwa, but, unfortunately, nothing of the sort has happened in this area, as Ukwa remains under-developed till date.”

The State Chairman stated that Prof. Greg Ibe is a Consultant to many countries, including the UNO, and that he is the only person who can clean the mess ocassioned by the activities of the PDP in the State. He said the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in Abia state, Prof. Uche Ikonne had contributed immensely and administratively in destroying Abia State Polytechnic, Aba and Abia State University, Uturu. And he insisted that Prof. Greg Ibe is the best candidate amongst the gubernatorial candidates in Abia. Emphasizing on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s boldness, he said the distinguished politician has remained the Voice of the southeast.

Furthering, the State Chairman of the Party presented Hon. Nwoke Adinigwe Ugochukwu as APGA candidate for Ukwa-West/ Ukwa-East Federal Constituency and he gave convincing reasons why he should replace Hon. Abonta at the Federal House of Representatives.

The State Chairman said, “Let me say this without mincing words, or without fear or favour, that Chief Chris Nkwonta doesn’t like any Asa man. I will say it again and again, and I can prove it, if called upon to do so. I heard he goes around distributing money. That, of course, will not make him to win the election. As a matter of fact, the man for the seat is Adinigwe, and he will win, by God’s grace.”

He further commented on the doggedness of Ikechukwu Nwankwo, whom he described as a true party man. And he enjoined the people of Ukwa-West LGA to vote for Mazi Ikechukwu Nwankwo.

Continuing, he said, “I am sure Ikechukwu Nwankwo will represent Ukwa-West very well at the Abia Assembly. Since the man at the State House has not been able to criticize the government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and bring change to Ukwa-West, Hon. Ikechukwu Nwankwo must replace him.”

There were presentation of items and money to the different wards, courtesy of Prof. Greg Ibe of APGA.
