CHINEDUM ORJI: UNVEILING A NEW ERA OF GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT
It was a Kenyan successful businessman, entrepreneur and industrialist, Chris Kirubi, who once said: “Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader, they set out to make a difference”. He went on to say that, “great leaders are not always passionate about the role, but goals, performance and achievements”.
This renowned philanthropist must have had the incoming House of Representative Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency, Rt, Hon Chinedum Orji in mind whose passion is to make a difference by decentralizing dividends of democracy to rural dwellers when elected in green chamber.
One of the major components of Rt Hon Chinedum Orji’s administration as enunciated in the DIRECT TOUCH initiatives is his vision to develop the rural areas. It is very clear that his leadership trajectory will signpost a clear and systematic commitment to further opening up the rural areas, create more urban centres, develop fresh economic opportunities to boost socio-economic expansion and give rural dwellers a sense of belonging.
The policy thrust of the next federal House member will be grassroots-oriented, focusing on developing the rural communities through concentration of massive infrastructural development in the most remote areas of the Constituncy.
As encapsulated in his economic blueprint, the incoming House of Representative member will pay great attention to the renovation, reactivation and building of Primary Health Care centres in all Wards across Ikwuano Umuahia to ensure access to quality healthcare services by rural dwellers.
When elected, he plans to institute a free health-care delivery scheme for the elderly to leverage on the existing health policies put in place for them by the current state Assembly.
Rt Hon Chinedum Orji’s deliberate policy in sustaining investment in the development of small and medium scale enterprises across the Ikwuano Umuahia is also targeted at giving the rural dwellers a sense of belonging, engage their youths in meaningful ventures and keep them out of social vices.
He strongly believes that the solution to unemployment, poverty and restiveness in Nigeria is moving the youths from job seekers to wealth and job creators through skill acquisition and vocational training and support.
As an astute engineer, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji plans to stimulate and reposition agriculture as the mainstay of Ohuhu and Ikwuano People’s economy. He will further encourage participation of youths and women in agricbusiness by providing adequate technical support including extension services and capacity building through a revamped Agricultural Development Programme (AKADEP).
His dream is to ensure the achievement of food security and sufficiency as well as increase the export of agricultural products from the Constituncy, while ensuring environmental sustainability. This will further boost economic activities of rural dwellers by ensuring that the youths, men and women are gainfully employed and self-reliant.
A vote for Rt Hon Chinedum Orji is a vote for massive deployment of resources to further engender development at the rural areas.
