Few weeks from now, 93million Nigerian voters will troop to different polling booths to elect the next set of leaders that will assume mantle of leadership by 29th May 2023.
Ohuhu will be among the lot that will use the ballot to change the legislative cluelessness and executive recklessness in Ohuhu and Abia state respectively.
However, it is pertinent to note that this year’s polls will be a radical deviation from what’s obtainable in the past.
Three important dynamics would be driving the voting mode in these elections.
Firstly, voters would be gunning for candidates with proven records of competence, credibility and performance.
Hence, credible and performing individuals will occupy the front burner of voters’ choices in lieu of party considerations.
Secondly, people will be voting according to the dictates of their conscience.
Naturally, they will vote for people with compassion and possess unassailable, verifiable antecedents and projects to their credits.
Finally, in this dispensation, voters are in a hurry to retire godfathers who have supervised looting and bad governance in the polity.
This is the colour of the voting mode this year.
Back in our dear Ohuhu land, past narrative has explained to us that godfathers dictate our voting inclinations.
But it may not work this time around.
High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia has a humongous edge over his rivals because of his preference for competence above docility, credibility above mediocrity and performance above complacency.
He is not only credible but eagerly competent to speak boldly for Ndi Ohuhu in Abia legislature.
His performance track record in benevolence and empowerment has remained, yet unmatched in the annals of the provision of welfarist succour in Ohuhu land.
Has any House of Assembly candidate come out to point to any single project done in Ohuhu land?
Again High Chief Chris Akachukwu has a healthy supply of compassion running seamlessly in his veins and that was the reason why he embarked on verifiable projects in all the nooks and crannies of Ohuhu land and families.
Ndi Ohuhu have studiously taken note of these labours of love and would reciprocate with their votes soon.
More importantly, High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia loathed the concept of ‘godfatherism’ and has vehemently opposed it in words and deeds.
This is simply the reason why he has elected to galvanize Ndi Ohuhu to reject ‘surrogate power holders’ that handpick candidates they will rig into office only to pocket them afterwards.
With Ihie Ohuhu in the saddle, the affliction of sharing our patrimony in the table of the few self styled ‘Elders/Stakeholders’ in Ohuhu shall not arise the second time.
High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia even went a mile longer to promise Ndi Ohuhu of placing his salary/emoluments for the four year stretch he will spend in ABHA at their disposal to further the development in Ohuhu.
What other guarantee can we secure from an apostle of better life for his people?
As the countdown ticks,the chances of each of the candidates can be glaringly seen and assessed.
Ndi Ohuhu have resolved to vote for a credible,competent candidate with track record of brilliant performance.
And we are all collectively agreed that High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia is the name,the party is APP and the logo is Elephant!
