History repeated itself in a flamboyant manner at Mbato 1,2,a sedate Ohuhu community yesterday 14th February 2023 as High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia and his Reformation Team came calling with strong message of faith and hope.
The remarkable flashpoint of this visit was the appreciable joy that was seen on the faces of the inhabitants as they openly extolled High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia as the only candidate who has genuinely approached them to identify with them.
One speaker after the other in the two sister communities told the visiting team that their community has been serially sidelined by political traders who come to reel out unattainable promises only to abandon them once they get to the office.
They lamented on the level of neglect that has been their lot in this present democratic dispensation.
It is pathetic to listen to their disheartening stories.
They decried total negligence in all fronts:Both Mbato 1 and 2 have the same similar developmental challenges.
These include lack of basic healthcare services,dilapidated road network that has constituted a death trap to the inhabitants.
As a result of this they hardly access transport facilities that force them to convey their dead relatives on wheelbarrow to their village outskirt before they could access transport vehicles.
What a sordid story in this 21st century!
Their primary school is also a worrisome narrative.The school building is much in a deplorable estate with unkempt,bushy surroundings that usually attract dangerous snakes harassing pupils studying in their classes.
However,they heaped quantum of praises for High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia on his developmental strides in all the nooks and crannies of Ohuhu land and enjoined him to factor them into his development schemes as he assumes office as the new legislator representing Ndi Ohuhu in ABHA.
High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia in his address to the teeming supporters assured them of a revolutionizing change in the way things should be done presently.
He assured the people of Mbato that since he could be able to re write the sordid spectacle of his own community school at Isingwu, he would still replicate it in Mbato.
His speech was roundly punctuated with roaring applause as he went ahead to promise them of accessible roads, healthcare centre and other democratic dividends.
High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia promised his hosts of qualitative representation as he is not tied to the aprons of any godfather who will be breathing down his necks to share Ohuhu’s commonwealth.
Above all, he reiterated his plans to surrender his salaries and entitlements to Ndi Ohuhu to further their development quests.
Relatively, he will disclose the finances that accrue to his office as a legislator. To him the era of hiding the House of Assembly financial commitments from the constituents will be over for good under his watch,Ndi Ohuhu will be in the know.
Unfortunately,other past legislators have not been able to do this.
He vowed that every Kobo that accrued as a Constituency allowance must be judiciously utilized for schools,healthcare, borehole/potable water, youth/women empowerment, job creation etc.
High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia will devise a new way of doing things tagged, “Opuruiche” in the new legislative enterprise.
He appealed for their votes to realize these objectives
Mbato community confessed that they have seen the light from High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia and promised to give them their whole votes.
It really ended in praise.
