‘YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED’ — OTTI TELLS ABIANS.
Abia State Governor-Elect, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has made a commitment to serve selflessly and provide the dividends of democracy to the people of Abia state.
Dr. Otti, who emerged winner of the 18 March governorship election, said this on Saturday, 25th March, 2023, when he attended the 62nd Diocesan Annual Synod of St. James Methodist Church, Umuda in Isingwu, Umuahia.
His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti while speaking to the enthusiastic congregation who were excited to see him, promised to govern the state with the fear of God and commitment to duty.
According to him, “For me, it’s not just about tenacity and consistency, it’s the grace of God. The first thing Abia State needs is to return it to God, so that it can truly be God’s Own State.”
The soul of this state was sold to the Devil and by God’s grace, we shall recover it and set it on the part of Light and prosperity.”
The Governor-elect, who defeated his closest rival, Mr. Okey Ahiwe of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with over 80,000 votes cast, also vowed to manage the state’s resources judiciously and not to waste it on cronies and‘jobless Stakeholders’.
“I will not share Abia State money to jobless Stakeholders. Abia State Resources will be used for Abia people. The days of government extravagant spending is over. My administration will deploy Abia State Resources to develop Abia State.
His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Chibuzo Raphael Opoko, who was also celebrating his birthday, prayed for Dr. Alex Otti, and charged him not to segregate, but to work for all Abians and not for those who voted for him alone.
Dr. Otti also used the opportunity to pour encomium on Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate in the concluded elections.
“I will not tell you how he will do it but trust me, we have started the process of making Peter Obi the President of this country. His administration will bring lasting change in every aspect of Nigeria.
Dr. Otti, who is poised to take control of leadership in Abia State come May 29, 2023, assured the people of Abia that he will not let them down for the huge amount of trust placed on him.
“I assure you that this victory is for the people of Abia State, those who have died through poor healthcare, those owed several months of salaries and pensions. I want to end by saying that— you shall not be disappointed”, he concluded.
The Governor-elect was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti; Rt. Hon. Iheanacho Obioma; Hon. Uche Sampson Ogah; Hon. Emeka Obioma; Hon. Ucheonye Steven and other dignitaries.
